Managing Your Forum With A Team

A moderator is a person who has control over what gets published within a specific room. One person can moderate the entire forum, or each room can have it's own moderator.

Editing is the heart of any successful publication. You can edit your forum with a team of moderators.

Moderator Powers

The moderator of a room can always edit or delete any post within their room by clicking buttons that appear underneath every post.

In an open room, moderator will be notified by email of every new post added to their room. They can click a link within that notification email to delete the post if they wish.

In a moderated room, the moderator will receive each new post via email BEFORE it is added to the forum. The moderator can review the pending post in this email, and click a link to either approve or decline that post.

The moderator does not have the power to delete, ban or suspend users, this is reserved for the forum owner.

The Default Moderator

When your forum is created, you the forum owner are made the "default moderator" for your forum. What this means is that you will be the moderator for any room where you have not specifically assigned someone else to be the moderator.

So, if you are planning to manage your forum by yourself, you are already the moderator of all rooms that you will create, and nothing else needs to be done.

You also have the option to assign someone else to be the default moderator.

A Team Of Moderators

If you're working within a group of people, you can assign a different moderator for each room. This helps spread the work around, and may come in handy when you need moderators who have specific knowledge of the topic of a room.

The Forum Owner

The forum owner is the only person who has access to the control panel for the forum (unless they share the login info with someone else).

The forum owner assigns the moderators for each room, and can change moderators at any time.

As example, if a room moderator will be on vacation for two weeks, someone else can easily be assigned to temporarily take over their moderation duties.
